BOTOX®
“Read what Stephen Moser from The Austin Chronicle
says about BOTOX® at Vickmay Skin and Body Spa”

Once injected, BOTOX® interrupts the communication link with the brain and the muscle nerve endings. In other words, if your muscle doesn’t receive the message to pull together then it won’t be able to pull it together. BOTOX® is very safe. Dr. Grace Jennings is very conservative and has a great beside manner. Areas to be treated are: Glabella (area between brows); forehead, and crow’s feet. The total cost depends on how many units are deposited by the doctor.

The treatment takes 15 minutes per site. There is no downtime but the site of the injection may have a small dot. The patient must sit up right for 3-4 hours (they cannot lie down) after treatment. Then the patient must make facial movements (exercises) 1-2 hours after the treatment. BOTOX® lasts 3-4 months.

BOTOX® Prices
Glabella $187-$250
Forehead $200-$350 or more
Crowsfeet $187-$300
All 3 sites $650 and up
Underarm and palm (to be determined by Dr. Grace Jennings)

Can BOTOX® treatment help?
BOTOX® is FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating when topical agents don’t work. BOTOX® treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops.

What is treatment with BOTOX® like?
The procedure is relatively straightforward. A small volume of BOTOX® is FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating when topical agents don’t work. BOTOX® treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops.

What should I expect after I have received BOTOX® treatment?
You should notice a significant reduction in underarm sweating within four weeks of your first treatment. There is a possibility that some sweat glands may be missed, and you may continue to experience some sweating from the untreated areas. If you do not see a significant reduction in sweating, you should contact your healthcare provider and request a follow-up consultation.

How long does a BOTOX® treatment last?
In a recent clinical study, the median duration of response in BOTOX® patients was 201 days or 6.7 months (i.e., half of the patients had a treatment duration of at least 201 days or 6.7 months).* It is not a cure; your symptoms will return gradually, and you will know when the time is right for another treatment. Your healthcare provider will recommend a treatment strategy to ensure that you receive the best possible results BOTOX® treatment.
